Established in 1978 by Dr. Ronald E. Sherman and Trish McEvoy, The Dr. Ronald Sherman/Trish McEvoy Skin Care Center is New York’s original medispa and renowned for helping pioneer the marriage of beauty and medicine that defines dermatology today.

Since their founding Dr. Sherman and Trish McEvoy have continuously developed technologically advanced skincare products for their patients and introduced Trish McEvoy’s namesake cosmetics company to over 300 specialty stores across the United States and abroad.

For more than three decades The Skin Care Center has been entrusted with serving New York’s most discerning population. We offer the most sophisticated medical and cosmetic procedures for all skin concerns and a select menu of coveted beauty services that have garnered a cult following.

Dr. Ronald E. Sherman

The founding owner of The Dr. Ronald Sherman/Trish McEvoy Skin Care Center, Dr. Ronald E. Sherman and his practice have been at the forefront of cosmetic dermatology for more than three decades. Dr. Sherman is renowned for helping pioneer the marriage of beauty and science that is now an industry standard, and blazing a trail for natural-looking techniques early in the Botox/collagen era. Board certified in dermatology and dermatologic surgery, Dr. Sherman has specialized in the care and treatment of the skin and scalp and sub-specialized in hair transplants.

After receiving a BA in Math from Amherst College in 1958, his doctorate from NYU in 1962, and completing his internship at Montefiore from 1962-1963, Dr. Sherman went on to receive Board Certifications in New York, New Jersey and California. In 1963 he became a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners of the United States. He served as Dermatologist to the Coast Guard, a Consulting Dermatologist to the United Nations, and as a consulting member of the New York Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Group. In 1969 Dr. Sherman was awarded the Physician’s Recognition Award in Continuing Medical Education by the American Medical Association and in May of 2012 he received a citation from The Medical Society of the State of New York in recognition of his fifty years’ service to the public through medicine. A frequent speaker on hair transplanting and dermatology throughout his career, Dr. Sherman has also contributed to dermatology-related articles in countless publications.

Insistent on the role patient education plays in proper treatment, Dr. Sherman’s teaching career includes a two-year tenure as Resident in Dermatology and Senior Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital and School of Medicine. He has also been the Assistant Adjunct Physician at Lenox Hill Hospital, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and member of the New York Academy of Medicine, the New York State Society of Dermatology, the International Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

In partnership with his wife, Trish McEvoy, Dr. Sherman guided the creation of one of the first dermatologist-developed skincare collections. Ideal for all skin types, each product is designed to deliver immediate visible results using the highest-quality, science-backed ingredients. Originally formulated for patients of The Skin Care Center, the renowned cosmeceutical-strength line is now sold in luxury retailers throughout the U.S. and UK.

Sought-after for his traceless excisions and natural touch, Dr. Sherman is proud to have mentored many of the most talented and respected dermatologists practicing today. With a clientele that has included celebrities and New York’s elite since his outset, Dr. Sherman’s priority has always been to spearhead new and improved ways to deliver the finest medical and aesthetic results. Dr. Ryan Turner

Dr. Ryan B. Turner

Dr. Ryan B. Turner, a Board-Certified New York City Dermatologist who practices Cosmetic Dermatology, General Dermatology, and Laser Surgery, joined Dr. Sherman’s practice in 2011. He came to our Center as the Director of Dermatologic and Laser Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center and Assistant Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, having received his Doctor of Medicine from Harvard and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital followed by a fellowship in Procedural Dermatology at Mount Sinai. Highlights from his extensive research experience and publications history include a study on antioxidants’ relationship to photo-carcinogenesis and DNA repair mechanisms at Harvard and an original article on high-risk patients with an increased number of skin cancers published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has presented his work internationally at conferences and in 2012 was invited for multiple presentations at the American Academy of Dermatology conference in San Diego.

Dr. Turner’s interests include skin cosmetic treatments that enhance and rejuvenate aging skin, treatments that reduce photodamage, wrinkles, and stimulate new collagen growth, the relationship between antioxidants and the photoprotective mechanisms in skin tissue, as well as skin cancer surgery. He has extensive training in fractional resurfacing treatments which reduce photodamage, wrinkles, and stimulate new collagen growth. In addition, he uses laser therapies for the treatment of unwanted sun damage, broken blood vessels, and brown spots.

Dr. Turner’s specialties range from the treatment and management of skin cancers to the optimal placement of Botox and injectable dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm. With his vast credentials and dual focus on the health and beauty of skin, his passions align beautifully with Dr. Sherman's tradition of results-oriented skincare and natural-look cosmetic dermatology, as well as our Center's pioneer role in the marriage of beauty and medicine.
